WEF 10: Richard Vogel e Chaina-Blue P vincono la Bainbridge Companies 1.40m

Il Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) è ricominciato ieri, mercoledì 16 marzo, con il decimo appuntamento di questo 2022. Il CSI4*, questa settimana sponsorizzato da Horseware Ireland, offrirà categorie a quattro stelle oltre che competizioni per hunter e jumper a livello nazionale. La serie si concluederà con la 13esima settimana del 3 aprile 2022, al Palm Beach International Equestrian Center di Wellington.
La main class della giornata di ieri è stata la $6.000 Bainbridge Companies 1.40m che ha visto il tedesco Richard Vogel sulla femmina del 2010 Chaina-Blue P (da Chaccomo 5 x Grannox) ottenendo la vittoria.
70 combinazioni cavallo-cavaliere erano iscritte per affrontare il percorso del course designer canadese Michel Vaillancourt e, di queste, ventisette sono riuscite a terminare senza errori. L’irlandese Darragh Kenny, in sella alla cavalla KWPN di 15 anni Cicomein VDL (Chacco-Blue x Jus De Pomme), sembrava avere la vittoria in pugno, finché Vogel non è entrato in campo ed ha finito il giro in soli 29,83 secondi. Kenny, con i suoi 31,114 secondi, è riuscito a tagliare il traguardo più velocemente della terza classificata, l’americana Laura Chapot, con un tempo di 31,641 secondi in sella a Calafornia, un KWPN del 2007 (da Nervoso x Grand D’Escla).
