Vittoria di Richard Vogel nel Gran Premio Hermès Under 25 da 50.000 dollari
La decima settimana del Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), sponsorizzato da Horseware Ireland, si è conclusa domenica 20 marzo. Il tedesco Richard Vogel è riuscito a battere 28 dei più promettenti giovani cavalieri emergenti del salto ostacoli ottenendo una vittoria Gran Premio Hermès Under 25 da 50.000 dollari.
Il percorso dello chef de piste canadese Michel Vaillancourt è stato superato da 11 binomi che sono riusciti ad essere ammessi al jump-off. E’ stata la tedesca Grace Debney a prendere il comando con un tempo di 37.81 secondi. Come prima a partire, tuttavia, la Debney si è dovuta accontentare del terzo posto in sella alla 11enne Selle Francais, Boheme De La Roque (Kannan x Quick Star) di Temple Equestrian LLC.
Il cavaliere messicano Carlos Hank Guerriero ha eseguito una delle sue migliori performance fino ad oggi in sella al castrone Hanoveriano di 11 anni H5 Chacco San (Chacco-Blue x Sandro Boy). Il 21enne non ha sfiorato neanche una barriera ed ha superato Debney di pochi millesimi di secondo con un tempo di 37.76 secondi.
Tuttavia, il percorso vincente della categoria è stata quella del tedesco Richard Vogel. Vogel, in sella alla cavalla Hannoverian di otto anni Looping Luna (Lord Fauntleroy x Calido I), di Horse Management GMBH. Il binomio ha terminato il soli 36.16 secondi, togliendo oltre un secondo dal tempo di Guerreiro.
