Youth out to grab the spotlight in Mexico
The future stars of the sport will be in action over the coming days for the FEI Children’s International Classics which will be held during the CSI4* -W Guadalajara. The competition is for riders aged between 12 and 14 with the home riders Jose Maria Quintana and Patricio Pasquel first and third respectively after the opening round. New Zealand’s Sophie Townsend is second in the provisional standings.
Over 30 nations are being represented at the prestigious event which will resume again shortly for the second round before the big final on Saturday. As for the seniors, the trials at the CSI4* -W Guadalajara got underway with the Grand Opening Cup over 1.30m in which Francisco Lomelin was victorious with the grey stallion Campoduna. The Welcome Cup over 1.45m meanwhile was won by the Mexican Juan Carlos Alvarez who was in action with Premiere.
Looking ahead the next competition is the Judges Cup over 1.35m and Guadalajara Cup over 1.40m. You can watch it all live on FEITv.
