Day 2 of the WBFSH Studbooks Jumping Global Champions Trophy at the Longines Tops International Arena saw top performances from both horses and riders. The competitions offered exciting moments, with results that are shaping an increasingly tight leaderboard.

The day opened with the CSIYH2 8-year-old horses category, 1.45m Against the Clock. Victory went to Marcel Schneider, representing the Springpferdzuchtverband Oldenburg-International aboard Chucky PS (Chacoon Blue x Cornet Obolensky). The pair stopped the clock at 62.55 seconds, finishing nearly three seconds ahead of the competition. Schneider commented, “My horse is unbelievable, he jumped superbly. I’ve had him since he was four, and we’ve built him up patiently. Now, the results are coming.” Schneider will compete today in the final, aiming for a clear round and valuable points for his team.

This win solidified Springpferdzuchtverband Oldenburg-International‘s lead in the overall standings with 469 points, followed by Irish Sport Horse with 432 points. Selle Français secured third place after an outstanding performance in the 8-year-old division, accumulating 430 points.

Among the standouts for Selle Français, Sofian Misraoui aboard Geniale Lulu (Ideal de la Loge x Quidam de Revel) stopped the clock at 67.91 seconds, delivering the first clear round of the category. Fellow Selle Français rider Arthur Le Vot followed suit, guiding Giulio du ter (Windows vh Costersveld x Rosire) to a flawless round, finishing in 65.43 seconds and securing second place. For the Westphalian Studbook, Carlotta Schepers delivered a strong performance with Cherry Blossom 5 (Comme Il Faut x Graf Top), securing a top position.

Other notable competitors included Michael Pender with HHS Cyprus (Cornet Obolensky x Acorado) for the Irish Sport Horse Studbook, who finished in the top ten, as did Jan Vermeiren with Qmusic-K van ‘t Kattenheye (Le Blue Diamond van ‘t Ruyters x Cornet Obolensky) for the Belgian Warmblood Horse Studbook.

The Zangersheide Studbook also had strong representation with Harrie Smolders riding Devino vd Weretherbach Z (De Flor 111 Z x Calvin Z), securing a top-ten finish. The Westphalian Studbook further demonstrated its strength with Hendrik Dowe and Askala NRW (A la Carte NRW x Contendro I), who also finished in the top ranks.

Today, all eyes turn to the finals for the 8-year-old horses and the 9-year-old stallions, with the best studbooks competing for the title.


CSI2* Small Tour 1.15m: Victory for Annabel Shields

The CSI2 Small Tour 1.15m category was dominated by female riders. Britain’s Annabel Shields took the win with B.E. Flygold, stopping the clock at 26.16 seconds. The 32-year-old rider has only been paired with this horse since October, but they’ve already shown themselves to be a winning combination. Aniek Diks from the Netherlands secured second place with Moviestar Ad, while Germany’s Philine Gröpper finished third with Paula’s Isabella.

CSI2* Medium Tour 1.25m: Dutch Triumph

In the CSI2 Medium Tour 1.25m, Dutch rider Piet Raijmakers Jr. dominated the competition with Van Schijndel’s Hanibal, completing the course in 23.62 seconds. Raijmakers, who has won several classes at the Longines Tops International Arena this year, continued his winning streak. Second place went to Julian de Boer with Radar Love KMS, while Annabel Shields claimed another podium finish, taking third with Canchouette PS.

5-Year-Old Horses 1.25m: Showcasing Emerging Talent

The 5-year-old category showcased the potential of many young horses. Out of 54 horses, 29 went clear, demonstrating the impressive level of training these young horses have received. In the intermediate standings, five studbooks now share the top spot with 408 points: Oldenburg International, Irish Sport Horse, KWPN, Selle Français, and Danish Warmblood.

7-Year-Old Horses 1.35m: Ruben Arroyave Shines Again

After winning the Big Tour, Ruben Arroyave also claimed victory in the 7-year-old category, riding the OS mare Diarona PS (Diaron OLD x Charity) and stopping the clock at 26.85 seconds. Second place went to Greta Reinacher aboard Florucci JH, while Gilles Van Hamme finished third with Lotto Indebus Z.

9-Year-Old Stallions 1.45m: Key West Claims Victory

The 9-year-old stallion category was convincingly won by the elegant Key West (KWPN, Otangelo x Phin-Phin), ridden by Britain’s Ronnie Jones, who completed the course in a rapid 62.99 seconds. Sven Joseph Hadley took second place with Phenomene Bleu VDM (BWP, Diamant de Semilly), while Stéphane Dufour secured third with Diego de Blondel (SF, Vigo Cece x Dollar dela Pierre).
