Two stallions approved for the KWPN studbook
Two new stallions were approved in recent days in Ermelo for the KWPN studbook: ContendroI, the 17- year-old son of one of the most influential sires of show jumping, the Holsteiner Contender .
His mother is a descendant of Ramiro Bravo , and a very successful broodmare farm, which also gave birth to Contendro II, full brother to Contendro I Contendro Cassito ( Cassian ) and Caretano Z ( Caretino ).
The latter in particular has made its way to a high standard with the rider Jos Lansink and is emerging as a quality stallion.
Contendro has been used mainly away from sport, in 2013 it was ranked tenth in the WBFSH as a stud for show jumping .
Some of his descendants have enjoyed success, the Codex One by Christian Ahlmann, Constantin B (v. Espri) by Hans -Dieter Dreher, Annie Hallo (v. For Pleasure ) Scott Brash and Callahan (v. For Pleasure ) du Gerco Schroder .
The other recently approved KWPN stallion is a Selle Francaise in service in Britain, Jaguar Mail ( Hand in Glove Laudanum XX x XX) that has developed in competitions under the saddle of Patrice Delaveau and Peter Eriksson , with the latter he competed for Sweden in the Olympics.
