Yesterday we came to the end of the first week at the Andalucía October Tour. There was an early start to  the day with the CSI3*, 1.35m 2Ph Sp, and our winner was Jules Orsolini riding the very fast,  Electra De Verdoso; just a month ago this pair won the 1.30m, CSI1*, Big Tour 1,30 in Deurne (Nehterlandss).  In second place were Jesús Garmendia Echevarría and Valut 2, coming in just in front of the American rider, Zayna Rizvi with Excellent who, in last year’s Andalucía October Tour, won the Diputación de Cádiz,  1.55m Grand Prix.

In today’s CSIYH* here at  Vejer de la Frontera, the 6 and 7yr old horses jumped on grass in the Hickstead arena.  In the 1.30, 6yr olds,  Nicholas Connors and Chelone Z, were once again on top of the podium;  with Michelle Kenny in second place with Milla Van De Kapel and  Jules Orsolini once again in the rosettes, with the Holsteiner, Ua Pou Island, who is by Uriko.

In the 1.35m, 7yr old class Jack Ryan had the fastest clear with the very consistent Mondavi and Katharina Offel was second with Baloutina HB, repeating Friday’s placings. In third was another German rider, Leonie Böckmann with the mare, Flo Jo 4; who is here with us, fresh from taking second place in the Young Horse World Showjumping Championships, FEI WBFSH, in Lanaken.  FEI WBFSH celebrado en Lanaken.

At 14:00 was class that was the highlight of the week, the Clipmyhorse.tv,  1.50m Grand Prix.  This was a Longines Ranking class held in the grass, David Broom arena, the main arena here at  Dehesa Montenmedio.  The course was demanding and only ten riders got through to the jump off, with many falling foul of a tight time in the first round.  The winner was the very talented Irish,  Michael Pender with HHS Los Angeles.  In second was Mathieu Bourdeaud’Hui with Oscar The Homage and in third was another top Irish rider, Tom Wachman with Obora’s Laura.  Jose Bono was the only Spanish rider in the jump off and had 4 faults on his homebred Alí Babá HT, who will be part of the Nations Cup Team.

Anda Elena Bojita and I’m Legend were once again on top of the podium in today’s  1.25m CSI3*.  Second was Sandra Gaspar Carreira from Portugal, with the young mare, Missanga 7 and in third was French rider, Scarlett Dentressangle, with Lammarusa H.

The 1.10 was held at midday and our winner was Eleanora Ljungman with Artful Trinity.  Isabella Beecroft-Luckett continues her great run here in the CSI3* taking second with Cevin’s Heartbreaker and in third was local Spanish rider, Alejandro Fernández Sánchez with Chatona Lady PS.

Once again the ponies closed off the day’s jumping. The 1.10m was won by Jimena Trapote Blázquez and  Espoir du Chene.  In the C section, Romy Giat was our winner, with an easy clear, over the 1m course on Irony D’Arrouaise and then had another win in the B section over 0.80-0.90m, with Anis du Vert.

So that rounds up the results for this week’s CSI3* and the CSI2*and CSIO3* will begin on Wednesday the 23rd and Thursday the 24th resp’.  The event is sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, and co-financed by the European Union and the Cádiz Provincial Council.
