The city of Bologna preparing for a day of celebration at the Arcoveggio racetrack.

The XI and the VIII editions of the Palio dei quartieri and Palio dei Comuni are set to begin today in Bologna at the Arcoveggio racetrack to commemorate “International History Celebration 2014”. 
It is an important day for the city of Bologna and its districts which will be celebrating its history, its culture, its landscape, local products and sporting traditions. This will all be done through the various activities and entertainment which have been organised for the Palio event, which will see 9 of the city quarters and districts from Bologna compete out on the race-track.The current title holders are the San Donato quarter and Casalecchio district. A sell-out crowd is expected.
