Spotlight falls on Switzerland this weekend
With the Christmas break behind us, the five-star competitions are all set to resume starting with the CSI5* Basle in Switzerland. A number of world class riders will be there too such as the Dutch star Jeroen Dubbeldam and home idol Steve Guerdat not to mention Christian Ahlmann and Daniel Deusser.
Flying the flag for Great Britain will be Scott Brash, Ben Maher and John Whitaker while Sweden’s Rolf-Goran Bengtsson, winner of the last Longines Global Champions Tour, will be present with direct rival Luciana Diniz of Portugal.
Germany’s Frank Rothenberger will design the course meanwhile at the St. Jakobshalle where Italy’s hopes pass through the following five Azzurri riders: Piergiorgio Bucci (with Driandria, Hertbreaker vd Achterhoe and Ugano de Coquerie), Lorenzo De Luca (Armitages Boy, Halifax van het Kluizebos and Unestar de Cerisy), Emanuele Gaudiano (Carlotta 232, Chalou, Inca’s Big Think), Luca Maria Moneta (Herold N, Neptune Brecourt, Percine Dream) and Alberto Zorzi (Cornetto K, Danique and Fair Light van’t Heike).
