The H&M Grand Prix at the Sweden International Horse Show, held at Strawberry Arena from November 28 to December 1, 2024, ended with an all-Swedish podium. Peder Fredricson claimed victory aboard the promising stallion Sv Vroom de la Pomme Z, followed by compatriots Amanda Landeblad and Rolf-Göran Bengtsson.

A Victory Built Over Time
Peder Fredricson dominated both the first round and the jump-off, finishing penalty-free in 42.36 seconds. “He’s starting to feel really confident in the arena,” said the champion, who has been riding Sv Vroom de la Pomme Z, a 2014 stallion by Vigo D Arsouilles Stx x Untouchable 27, for two years. After placements in World Cup competitions and a recent win at the Flyinge Grand Prix, the pair’s gradual progress has culminated in this outstanding result.

Strong Performances from Podium Finishers
Amanda Landeblad, riding For Killy, a 2010 KWPN mare by Otangelo x For Pleasure, impressed with a bold jump-off strategy, finishing in 43.07 seconds to secure second place. “I felt like I was riding incredibly fast, but apparently, it wasn’t fast enough,” joked Landeblad, showing clear progress in tackling timed jump-offs.

In third place was Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, competing with Zuccero HV, a 2012 Holsteiner stallion by VDL Zirocco Blue x Caretino 2. Despite delivering a solid performance with a time of 43.59 seconds, Bengtsson graciously acknowledged his competitors’ edge: “My horses jumped clear all weekend, but I need to practice more jump-offs myself.”

Completing the Top Five: Olivier Philippaerts and Malin Baryard-Johnsson
Just off the podium, Belgian rider Olivier Philippaerts finished fourth aboard Precious Dwerse Hagen, a 2015 BWP mare by Cornet Obolensky x Casall, completing the jump-off in 44.98 seconds. Fifth place went to Malin Baryard-Johnsson, riding Hennessy, a 2013 Westfalian gelding by Hogwart x Piano II, who crossed the finish line in 51.56 seconds.

A Challenging and Memorable Course
Designed by Peter Lundström and his team, the course challenged 18 participants, with 12 riders earning placements and only five achieving double-clear rounds. The event capped off a stellar weekend for Swedish showjumping, with Peder Fredricson earning four podium finishes across five competitions.
