Olympic Games: qualification confirmed for Morocco

The Moroccan team had qualified for the Tokyo Olympics last year at the CSIO in Rabat. But it was still a question of validating this qualification for 2021. It is done since last weekend when Samy Colman, Ali Al Ahrach, Ghali Boukaa and Abdelkebir Ouaddar have obtained the precious sesame on the Sunshine Tour in Vejer de la Frontera where the “green jackets with red collar“ are currently shining by taking the seventh out of seventeen nations of the Nations Cup, Saturday, November 28, 2020.
 
Four years after the first participation in the history of Moroccan equestrianism in the Olympic Games, but on an individual basis – it was the mythical couple Abdelkebir Ouaddar and Quickly de Kreisker – Morocco will therefore be present for the first time as a team at an Olympiad. Morocco is also qualified as individual for dressage.
 
The riders were currently fine-tuning their Olympic preparation in Spain on this circuit where the best riders in the world are currently competing against each other in the absence of indoor competitions in Europe. Preparation which is carried out under the coaching of the new national coach, Belgium’s Philippe Lejeune who was Individual World Champion in 2010 in Lexington. An experience which, added to the sense of management, the technical know-how and the deep horsemanship that we know in this Belgian champion, will be profitable to the Moroccan riders who, with the support of their Federation, will certainly approach these Games of the XXXII Olympiad of the modern era having put all the chances on their side.
 
The Olympic equestrian events will take place from July 24 to August 7, 2021 at the Equestrian Park of Setagaya (JAP) which had already hosted the equestrian events in 1964.
