Mountain Trail event in Lombardy

The clinic held by the founder of discipline in US Mark Bolender will be held for 200 riders at the Renzo Canciani Team Horse Racing Center.
This weekend, at the Renzo Canciani Team Horse Racing and Training Center in Gottolengo, in the province of Brescia, the national event with a discipline that – under the aegis Fitetrec Ante – brings equestrian tourism and riding together. The Mountain Trail, where the obstacles that horse and rider can encounter in the countryside are recreated within a restricted area, will decide the Italian champions in the different categories.
Starting at the top, Open Level 2, we go to Level 1, then to Adult Level 2, Adult Level 1, Youth, Novice Adult, and Novice Youth to the Lead Line dedicated to children entering side by side with the instructor, and then at Open Harness, where the horse is led by specific harness, and finally Gambler’s Choice, a category where speed is the essence.
There will be three different races in this championship: the so-called “In Hand“ test, where the rider or riders run the horse-riding along a path and we will see about 50 riders on the go, including all the above mentioned categories as well as Gambler’s Choice and Open Harness; the “Riding“ test, with about 140 riders, including the above categories. Finally, the “Futurity“, a three-year-old and six-year-old horse racing event that will only take place in “riding“ mode, only in the Adult and Open categories.
“We have eight regions on the way,“ explains Ornella Tacconi, Federal Director of Veneto’s disciplines, with a central organizational role in this event. “They will be coming from Piemonte, Trentino Alto Adige, Veneto, Lombardy, Lazio, Basilicata, Emilia Romagna and Marche to take part in the Italian Championship of Mountain Trail 2017.”
Meanwhile, today, riders enrolled in the Italian Championship Discipline, as well as those not registered but interested in the Mountain Trail, are participating in an exclusive clinic with Mark Bolender, guru and creator of this exciting discipline born in America as well as president of the International Mountan Trail (IMTCA) and Race Judge tomorrow next to Eleonora Malerba.
Everything is ready the Renzo Canciani Team of Gottolengo – managed by Canciani himself along with three other federal 2nd level instructors with qualifications in Mountain Trail – for tomorrow’s races, which will be held between the covered field and the grass field in the open air. For this Italian Championship, there are not only cups, plaques, wraps and cocoons, but also buckles and two saddles for the winners in the Open and Adult categories.
