Marcus Fyffe shines at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival

One of the most important international dressage events was held in Wellington this week; the Adequan Global Dressage Festival. The event brought together American lovers of the discipline and the big names in dressage; like British Olympian Carl Hester. A great show for the curious and interested crowd, who were also able to delve deeper into the world of dressage through workshops organized for the event.
In the arena at the Adeqan Festival the horses from Marcus Fyffe’s stable seized the limelight from the very beginning: Olympian David Marcus and Nicholas Fyffe claimed back-to-back results in the both their own competitions and those of their students.
A number of debutants claimed spots on the podium at Wellington; like the 14-year-old Hannover Hitchcock, who regularly claimed first or second spot his first competitions in the category which include important events like the CDI. From the same team, David Marcus, riding his new GP Dean Martin, won the Grand Prix on the horse’s debut.
Other horses who drew attention were Belgian 10-year-old Illuster vande Kampet and Portuguese 8-year-old Guacamole. The students who stood out the most in the under-25 category were: Katrina Sadis, riding Zepelim; Genay Vaughan, ridin Donarweiss GGF; and Rosie Julian-Simoes, riding Rankrado.
