New recruit for the team Ioli Mytilineou gave an interesting insight into the team: “I have had two unbelievable years on the GCL circuit with the Paris Panthers but I am extremely excited to embark on a new journey and join Madrid In Motion with 5 other very very strong riders on the team. I can’t wait to learn something from each and every one of them. I have already met with our team manager Eric van der Vleuten and he is very keen to get a good plan done for the year so everyone knows where they will be going which I think is a great way to approach it. I couldn’t be more excited for the year!”
As Eric van der Vleuten steps off the team and solely into the role of team manager the 2024 Madrid In Motion Team consists of:
- Maikel van der Vleuten: Once again serving as the team anchor, van der Vleuten brings his wealth of experience and leadership to guide Madrid In Motion towards another successful season.
- Eduardo Alvarez Aznar: A long-term member of the squad, Alvarez Aznar’s consistency and skill make him an invaluable asset to the team.
- Jack Whitaker [U25]: Entering his third year with Madrid In Motion as an U25 rider, Whitaker continues to showcase his emerging talent, adding a youthful and dynamic element to the team.
- Marc McAuley: Known for his uber-consistency and impressive horsepower, McAuley is resigned by Madrid In Motion, bringing added strength to the lineup.
- Roger-Yves Bost: A notable addition to the team, Bosty joins Madrid In Motion after a year without a team, injecting his renowned expertise and experience into the squad.
- Ioli Mytilineou: Adding female firepower to the team, Mytilineou makes the transfer from Paris Panthers to Madrid In Motion for the 2024 season, enhancing the team’s diversity and competitive edge.
Dutch rider Maikel van der Vleuten spoke of his thoughts for 2024: “I am really looking forward to the new season. We have two new team members which is exciting. I think we have very good horses and riders so along with my father Eric as team manager and the team owners we will be able to perform very well in the upcoming season.”
On news of his resigning Jack Whitaker said: “I am delighted that Madrid In Motion have the confidence in me to sign me up for a third year. We have had some great highs and I am looking forward to helping make this year even more successful for the team. I feel we have one of the best team spirits and with Eric managing the team, strong riders and horses we will be pushing hard this year!”
