Lövsta Top 10 Dressage kicks off with GP-win for Jessica von Bredow-Werndl
Germany dominated the opening Grand Prix of Lövsta Top 10 Dressage on Saturday at Sweden International Horse Show. World no.1 Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Tsf Dalera BB secured a win in the star-studded show, well ahead of Isabell Werth and the SIHS-newbie Benjamin Werndl.
Top 10 Dressage is a well-known concept at Friends Arena having featured at Sweden International Horse Show since 2017. This year the event has partnered with Lövsta Stuteri. As always, the concept brings together some of the world’s very best riders to compete in an opening Grand Prix followed by a Grand Prix Freestyle-final.
German dressage queen Jessica von Bredow-Werndl is a real favourite with the crowds at Friends Arena. Together with Tsf Dalera BB she smashed the competition with a performance worth 83.065 percent.
– The pressure was high but we had a strong performance, Jessica von Bredow-Werndl says at the press conference.
– Dalera is like a fairytale… I really enjoy every second I spend with her, in and out of the arena.
The prize podium was basically all-German today, with experienced Isabell Werth in second place and Benjamin Werndl coming in third. Benjamin has visited the show many times with his sister Jessica, but today was the first time he got to ride in Friends Arena himself – a very successful debut as he achieved a new personal best of 78.348 percent.
-It’s a dream coming true. I really enjoyed every moment, Benjamin says.
Sunday’s freestyle is next up for the dressage stars and today’s winner is looking forward to showing the Swedish audience a new freestyle to the tunes of Édith Piaf.
– It’s kind of a love story, Jessica von Bredow-Werndl describes her new freestyle.
