Bad weather was the only winner at Julius Baer Spring Polo Gold Cup 2009 in Sardinia.Heavy rain made the field impossible to play on and the final between Cortina Polo Style Team and Villa a Sesta Polo Team was cancelled.The referee, Federico Martelli, from Argentina had no other choice but to call-off the showcase event and the two captains decided that the teams should share the cup.The play-off for third place was decided on a penalty shoot-out and Julius Baer came out 5-4 over Operae Polo Team. Eduardo Menendez of Villa A Sesta finished the competition as the top goalscorer on 26 goals.
