At Fieracavalli we met Silvio Audisio, the new CEO of Avantea, who took over the helm of the company in March 2024 with the ambitious goal of accompanying it on a path of expansion and consolidation at an international level. We asked Dr. Audisio to share his experience and his initial steps at Avantea, a company based in Cremona, equipped with modern laboratories and state-of-the-art facilities for ART technologies and animal model research.

In the first few months, Dr. Lazzari accompanied Dr. Audisio on a series of visits to European partner clinics, allowing him to directly engage with key customers and reinforce the perception of Avantea’s innovation and quality. “A concrete example of how an Italian company can excel abroad through the most innovative assisted reproduction techniques, particularly in the equestrian field,” concludes Audisio.

What is the peculiarity of Avantea?:

“We are pioneers in the application of the OPU-ICSI technique (Ovum Pick Up – Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection), an advanced fertilization method that offers superior results compared to traditional techniques.”

OPU-ICSI involves collecting oocytes from the donor (Ovum Pick Up), followed by fertilization via intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). After a 7-9 day in vitro culture period, the embryo is ready for freezing and subsequent embryo transfer (ET). This methodology represents a significant improvement over the in-vivo flushing technique, offering greater flexibility and higher success rates. • Providing logistics services for the transport of oocytes from external clinics performing OPU to Avantea.
