Eventing: Vittoria Panizzon shines in Ravenna.
In what was the last call for points in Europe for qualification to the Olympic Games in Rio, Vittoria Panizzon made sure she was on form to make it count at the international eventing competition in Ravenna.
The corporal in the Italian Air Force was competing with her grey mare Borough Pennyz and amassed a total of 55.80 pn over the three disciplines to take first place.
In second we find Ireland’s Aoife Clark with Wasting Light and a score of 56.50 pn while the final podium slot went to Switzerland’s Felix Voog with Onfire (57.60 pn).
Pietro Roman meanwhile gave an impressive performance and took fifth place with a score of 70.40 pn while Arianna Schivo can be satisfied with a top-ten finish after coming in seventh with a total score of 74.30.
Vittoria Panizzon also competed with Merlots Magic and came in ninth with that mount whereas rounding out the top-ten we find another Italian in the form of Marco Biasia with Trebarwith.
As for the CIC3*, Spain’s Albert Hermoso Farras stole the limelight with Hito Cp (71.70 pn) while Italy’s Evelina Bertoli claimed two top-ten finishes with Leitrim Orient Express and Quidam del Duero.
Finally, Fosco Girardi gave an impressive performance with Feldheger (Prop. Cristoph Meyer) to win the CIC2* Young Rider category.
