Equestrian world grieves loss of Lodovico Nava
Italian equestrianism is in mourning following the passing of Lodovico Nava, one of the most important and distinguished figures in the history of the sport in Italy. Born in 1929, he was one of the most respected coaches around and for decades was one of the leaders in the discipline standing out for his role in developing young talent and more.
Lodovico Nava was also one of the members of the Italian eventing team at the Olympics on home soil in 1960 with the mount Arcidosso and also competed at the European Championships in 1959 in the same discipline. Following a career as a rider, Nava switched his focus to coaching by using all of his immense cultural and equestrian experience.
The Italian Equestrian Federation President Vittorio Orlandi has also led the tributes and sent his condolences to the family following the sad Equestrian World.
