Double injury blow for Italian eventing team
The Italian eventing team has been dealt a major setback following the Equestrian World that one of its top pairs, Vittoria Panizzon and Borough Pennyz, will miss out on the Rio Olympic Games.
In what can only be described as incredible bad luck both the rider and performer have sustained injuries meaning their Olympic dream is over.
The grey mare Borough Pennyz picked up an injury last Sunday during a trial at Barbury Castle in Great Britain while the Italian rider is also out of action after a fall during training last Wednesday.
The Italian Equestrian Federation has until later today (July 18) to announce its final squad for the eventing discipline which at the moment is as follows: Stefano Brecciaroli, Luca Roman, Pietro Roman, Arianna Schivo and Giovanni Ugolotti.
