Azzurri riders in good form in Basel
It was a good day at the Basel CSI5* event with a double success for Italian riders Emanuele Gaudiano and Luca Maria Moneta.Wearing the new Carabinieri uniform, Gaudiano took first place in the Prize Grosspeter Nutzfahrzeuge AG over 1.45m time trial, riding the eight-year-old Carlotta (Chaccomo), finishing with zero penalties.
Moneta was in second place, also with a clear round, on Neptune Brecourt.
Third went to the the Swiss Steve Guerdat with Dioleen while Alberto Zorzi had a good round with one penalty on Fair Light van’t Heike to take 21st place.

The J. Safra Bank Sarasin AG Prize high hurdles over 1.50m was won by the German Hans-Dieter Dreher on Cool and Easy, with a clear round in 54.29 seconds followed in second place by the British rider Michael Whitaker riding Viking (54.53) and third the French Simon Delestre on Sultan du Chateau (55.13).
The best Azzureri was Luca Maria Moneta with Herold N followed in 29th place by Emanuele Gaudiano with Chalou, both finished with 4 penalties.

In the first outing of the day there was a 7th place in the time trial amateur category over 1.20m for Giovanni Torre, author of a clear round riding Toscan de Kergane.
This day begins with a 1.30m and a 1.20m to follow, both amateur categories.
The CSI5* starts in the afternoon at 14.00 with the time trial over 1.45m, followed by the1.50m and finally the main trophy of the day today that will award the prestigious Golden Drum following the jump-off over 1.55m.
