The world elite meeting at the Longines International Jumping of La Baule

From 10th to 13th June, the 60th edition of the Longines International Jumping of La Baule gets ready to welcome the crème de la crème of world showjumping riders and horses, and for a good reason. In the CSIO5* of France, unique competition of this label in the country, 19 nations (ARG, AUS, BEL, BRA, CAN, COL, EGY, FRA, GBR, IRL, ITA, LUX, MEX, NED, SLO, SPA, SWE, SWI, TUR), 176 horses and 68 riders will compete in 9 international classes, among which 8 counting for the world ranking.
The Swiss stars Steve Guerdat, Martin Fuchs and Beat Mändli are expected, just like the Dutch Marc Houtzager and Harrie Smolders, the Irish Bertram Allen, Cian O’Connor and Shane Sweetnam, as well as the British John Whitaker and Scott Brash. On the Blues’ side, the best will be in Loire-Atlantique too, like Kevin Staut, Pénélope Leprévost, Roger Yves Bost, Simon Delestre, Marc Dilasser, Nicolas Delmotte, Mathieu Billot, Laurent Goffinet, Olivier Robert… to name but a few (see the start list of the CSIO5* on June 8th)
For several pairs in competition in the CSIO5* of France, the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ held on Friday 11th June (02.00pm) and the Grand Prix Longines of La Baule held on Sunday (01.00pm) will qualify for Tokyo, the 2021 European championships and the 2022 World Equestrian Games. The Derby of the Pays de la Loire Region will thrill the audience of the François André stadium as well.
On the CSI1* side, reserved to experienced amateurs and horses in the making, 5 nations (BEL, FRA, LIB, SLO, RSA) represented by 46 riders and 58 horses will confront in 8 classes, among which the mini-Derby of the Laiterie de Montaigu on Saturday (10.55 am) and the Grand Prix Land Rover on Sunday (5.00 pm) as a climax of the event (see the start list of the CSI1* on June 8th)
With a sunny weather forecast on the program, everything is in place for a fantastic show. Let the festivities begin!
