A horse was saved on Mount Etna


The rescue services had to leap into action in Sicily, on Mount Etna, but for once it was not a hiker who was in need, but rather a horse.



The finalists for the show jumping Rolex FEI World Cup have been decided.


Forty riders from 22 countries have confirmed their participation at the Show Jumping Rolex FEI World Cup, which will be held in Las Vegas, in the United States of America from the 15th to the 19th of April.



A deal has been reached between the FEI (International Equestrian Federation) and the FIP (International Polo Federation)


The International equestrian sports federation (FEI) who control the main types of horse riding sompetitions and the International Polo federation (FIP) have signed a deal of co-operation to help develop the world of equestrian sports.


Show Jumping: Youth category try-outs.

The selection process which was held on the 22nd of March at Abano Terme, during the Selection competition for the Youth + Pony category will soon be on air.

The Children’s Grand Prix will be commentated by Mario Verheyden, and was won by the female rider Alice Sultan with her mount Rocky G.


Equestrian, Andrea Vitale triumphs at La Favorita

At the end of the barrage it was local rider Andrea Vitale, riding Toreador, who won the C130 mix, the most prestigious race in national One day competition held on the obstacle course of the Favorita, in Palermo. Christian Ahlmann’s ban has been extended by the Court of Arbitration for Sport


Christian Ahlmann has been informed that his suspension has been extended by the Court of Arbitration for Sport who met in Switzerland to discuss the case of the German rider.
The CAS accepted the German Equestrian Federations request to increase the suspension of four months given to Ahlmann by the FEI, because it was deemed too soft.


Pedro Costa wins 1m 45 barrage

Brazil recorded another victory in Arezzo with Pedro Costa on AD Kirfa (0-37, 16) in the speed clash with barrage finale at 145cm.

Second place was claimed by Julien Epaillard on Labrador de Brekka (0-38.75) while third was taken by Daniel Deusser on Cabreado S.E. (0-40, 15).


CSI2* show jumping in Arezzo


The space dedicated to the CSI2* at the Global Tour at the Arezzo Equestrian Center has come to a close with the winning round of the European Youngster Cup at 145cm.

Victory went to Ireland thanks to Declan McEvoy riding Umberto (0-44, 86 sec.) ahead of runner-up Marlon Zanotelli from Brazil on Ulexa (0-45, 27) and third-placed Belgian Nicolas Mignon on Chiarra (2-55, 32).


Ivan Fondriest wins endurance test in Sirolo


Ivan Fondriest, from the Emilie region, came out on top in the 81km FEI CEI* contest on Pegaso, crossing the finish line at 13.42.

Crossing the line four minutes later was second placed Stefano Angelelli on Nadir. Third step of the podium for Simona Giancola on Walidora who was three minutes further back.


Faster than a speeding train

In Baltimore a singular race was organised, between the Stockon&Stones firm, who ran the stagecoach service in the area, challenged a steam train to determine, once and for all who which means of transport was quicker.
