Smolders Delivers Dutch Double To Close LGCT Valkenswaard

Harrie Smolders (NED) and his "rockstar" Cas 2 delivered the second Dutch victory of the weekend, closing off a phenomenal event full to the brim of top sport during the Longines Global Champions Tour of Valkenswaard.
Smolders took the win almost a second faster than speed merchant Simon Delestre (FRA) and Filou Carlo Zimequest, with Margie Goldstein-Engle (USA) finishing in third with Dicas.

British superstar Ben Maher scored an emphatic victory on home turf today to claim the LGCT Grand Prix of London, presented by Tennor, in front of an enthusiastic sell-out crowd at the unique venue of the Royal Hospital Chelsea backdrop.

Time for Tropicana Derby

On this 3rd day of competition, the highlight of the day has with no doubt been the Tropicana Derby, with 20 pairs from the CSI3* on the start list. The faithful public of the International Jumping of Dinard, known for supporting its French champions, but also the athletes from the whole planet, was not mistaken, since the grandstand was one more time fully packed.

Victory for the French in the 7 classes of the day

In this first day of the International Jumping of Dinard, the riders from the three categories (CSI1*, CSI3* et CSI5*) had a chance to discover the magnificent Val Porée stadium, entirely adorned with pink colour for the occasion. The French riders clinch victory in the 7 classes of the day.

Dani and Lizziemary Triumph in Berlin As Ludger Qualifies for LGCT Super Grand Prix

The first round claimed some high profile scalps, with poles falling generously, even for some seasoned combinations. A third of the field had already jumped before Harry Charles (GBR) produced the first clear inside the time. Bassem Mohammed (QAT) and Bart Bles (NED)  both cleared all the fences, but couldn’t make the time, so agonisingly missed out on the jump-off.

A whole host of riders lowered one rail, including the series rankings leader Pieter Devos (BEL), Kevin Staut (FRA), Kent Farrington (USA), Olivier Phillippaerts (BEL) and Gerco Schroder (NED).

Knights Lead Eagles into GCL Saturday Showdown in Berlin

 The blistering combination of London Knights’ Martin Fuchs (SUI) and Nicola Philippaerts (BEL) landed pole position for tomorrow’s GCL showdown in Berlin ahead of home city team Berlin Eagles.

The Knights combo and the on form Eagles’ pairing of Ludger Beerbaum (GER) and Christian Kukuk (GER), winners of the previous leg, were the only two teams out of 16 on a completely clean sheet.

Kent Farrington and Gazelle leap into history in the Rolex Grand Prix at CHIO Aachen

The sun shone down on the impressive CHIO Aachen arena for the pinnacle of the event, the Rolex Grand Prix. With seven horse and rider combinations through to the jump-off, the world’s best battled it out, but it was USA’s Kent Farrington who claimed the top prize aboard the speedy mare, Gazelle, in 43.98 seconds. In a nail-biting finish that went down to the wire as last-to-go Germany’s Daniel Deusser, looked close to beating Farrington’s time, but despite an electrifying clear round, finished just 0.37 seconds behind the American and had to settle for second place.

Battle of the Best in Berlin as LGCT Championship Hots Up

Show jumping stars will be out in force this week in Berlin for the 13th leg of the 2019 Longines Global Champions Tour circuit, situated in the heart of Germany's capital city.

As well as the prestigious LGCT Grand Prix of Berlin Presented by Tennor to add to their accolades, the sport’s A-list will have their eyes on winning the next coveted ticket to the LGCT Super Grand Prix as time runs out to qualify.
