Gerardo Pasquel, Francisco Pasquel & Rodrigo Lambre Collect Wins in the Triple Copa Scappino CSI3* Week 1 Wraps and Week 2 Begin

Guadalajara, MX , January 23, 2019 - The Triple Copa Scappino CSI3*  kicked off the 2019 FEI show calendar in Mexico with competition from January 16-20. The spectacular facilities of the Guadalajara Country Club welcomed over 100 athletes from 12 counties  to compete for prize money totaling $3,090,000 Mexican pesos ($160,000+ U.S.).Benjamín Fernández of Mexico was in charge of the first week’s course designs. Earning two big wins each, it was a stellar week for Brazilian Rodrigo Lambre and the Pasquel brothers of Mexico.

Sanne Thijssen saves the best for last in the CSI2* Grand Prix presented by Oliva Nova Beach & Golf Resort at Spring MET I 2019

In the first CSI2* Grand Prix of the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour 2019-season, it was last-to-go Sanne Thijssen (NED) who outclassed the jump-off field consisting of 22 other riders.

Sunday’s CSI2* Grand Prix presented by Oliva Nova Beach & Golf Resort was set at 1.45m and offered valuable world ranking points, but with no less than 23 of the 69 horse-and-rider combinations in the class moving onto the jump-off it was obvious you needed to be fast to have a chance for the podium.

Held from 16 to 19 May 2019 at the François André stadium, the International Jumping of La Baule launches, each year, the outdoor jumping season in France. In 2019, its CSIO5* will also open the « Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ » circuit with the 1st leg of the European n°1 Division.

The pinnacle of the last day of Olympia, The Turkish Airlines Olympia Grand Prix, was won by Alberto Zorzi, defending his 2017 title to become a back-to-back winner of the prestigious class. Earlier in the day the Show Jumping competition saw Irishman Shane Breen take the title in The Christmas Masters. The final show jumping class of the Show, The Mistletoe Mini Stakes, was won by the speedy duo of Connie Mensley and Madonna.

Germany's Frederic Wandres victorious after nail-biting finish

The result could not have been closer with two riders finishing on an equal score in tonight’s FEI Dressage World Cup™ Grand Prix Freestyle supported by Horse & Hound. The win however was awarded to Frederic Wandres and Duke of Britain (80.030%) the first German combination to win the World Cup leg in London. The pair headed the class by virtue of higher artistic marks meaning British favourite Charlotte Dujardin and Hawtins Delicato had to settle for second place.
